at the age of 120 years.

The following is from a translation from Lussier: DICTIONNAIRE NATIONAL des CANADIENS FRANÇAIS:

MIVILLE - ONE OF YOUR SWISS-ORIGIN ANCESTORS

Pierre MIVILLE: AN IMPORTANT COLONIST OF THE COAST OF LAUZON

Swiss blood flows in your veins. Indeed, Pierre Miville, your ancestor was born in
Fribourg, Switzerland in the year 1602. He married there in 1629 and eventually
crossed to Canada in the spring of 1649 with his wife and six children. On his arrival
he was granted a piece of land on the coast of Lauzon, opposite the Plains Abraham;
today situated near the Patton outlet, in the parish Saint-David-de-l'Auberivière. (The
street Mgr. Miville is about 0.8 km SW of Point de Levis. - GWR)

In 1669 (? - needs checking), several colonists from Fribourg obtained land grants at the Grande-Anse,
today known as Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatière. Your ancestor, Pierre Miville, directed
them in clearing their land that carried the name of "Canton des Suisses
Fribourgeois". This attempt at colonization did not succeed and all the Swiss returned
to their country, except your ancestor, Pierre Miville, who remained established on the
coast of Lauzon, where he eventually became captain of the militia.

This colonist, who carried the nickname of "The Swiss" after the country of his origin,
left many descendants.
