Pierre PARADIS was born in Tourouvre, Perche, France. He married Barbe GUYON about 1640 in France.

Barbe GUYON [Parents] was born in 1630. She married Pierre PARADIS about 1640 in France.

There is some doubt about the recorded dates of birth ((1620) and marriage
(1633) for Barbe. Her parents were married in 1615 and their first two children,
Barbe and Jean, are shown as being born in 1620. They might have been twins!
Her first child, Marie, was born in 1642. Could she have been married about 1640
instead of 1633? This would make her 20 years of age, a better marriageable age
than 13 years!

Barbe had nine children between the years 1642 and 1661.

They had the following children:

  F i Marie PARADIS

Jean GUYON [Parents] was born on 18 Sep 1592 in St-Aubin de Tourouvre, Mortagne, France. He died on 3 May 1663 in Beauport, Québec. He married Mathurine- Madeleine ROBIN-BOULE on 2 Jun 1615 in St-Jean de Mortagne, Perche, France.

Information source - See Charles LEPAGE (Rin #131), also see Tanguay and the LaFontaine Family Genealogy Data Base WEB site at:

http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~lheureaux/la1/notes.html

Guyon is also spelt Guion.

He came from Buisson, France.

One source shows his death as 30 May 1663 and his burial as 31 May 1663.

Jean and his wife Mathurine (ROBIN-BOULE) had 10 children; eight were born in France and the other two after they moved to New France in 1634. Three of these: Marie, Claude and Barbe married and created three lines which eventually merged so that each became your ancestor thus making Jean and Mathurine your "triple ancestors".

It is also interesting to note that your distant cousin, the famous Canadian singer, Céline Dion, also claims that Jean GUYON or DION, to which the name was eventually changed, is her ancestor through the son Jean GUYON. Céline was born in Charlemagne, Québec on March 30, 1968. She was the youngest of 14 children. Her ancestral line is included here as a matter of interest.

.

Methurine gave birth to eight children between the years 1620 and 1635.

Three of these children, Marie, Claude and Barbe were your ancestors. The
ancestoral lines are somewhat complicated. Considering your great-great
grandfather, Eloi LePage: both of his parents were descentants of Mathurine and
Jean Guyon; also, both of his materal grandparents, Genevieve and Jean Baptiste
Guyon, were also descendants of Mathurine and Jean Guyon; furthermore, both
parents of Jean Baptiste Guyon were descendants of Mathurine and Jean Guyon.
Thus it follows that Mathurine and Jean Guyon, who each should have
contributed 1/64th to the gene pool of Eloi (from the sixth generation)
actually contriibuted four times as many or 1/16th of the genes. Actually these
figures may be a little high since two of the lines from Eloi back to Mathurine
and Jean Guyon spam seven generations, while two lines spam only six.

  M iii Claude GUYON (DION)
