Germain LEPAGE [Parents] was born in 1622 in Notre-dame-, D'Ouanne (Yonne), Bergundy, France. He died on 26 Feb 1723 in Rimouski, Quebec. He married Reine LARRY (LORY) about 1658 in Ouanne, France.

Information source - see Charles LePage (Rin #131) also Etienne Lepage (Rin
#140); also see Tanguay.

Germain came to Canada from France in 1664. He lived at St-Francois,
Ile-d'Orleans until his wife died in 1696 when he moved, with his son Rene
LePage of Ste-Claire, to establish the first seigneur de Rimouski. He was in
Rimouski for 27 years before his death. He lived to the ripe old age of 101
years.

He was a devout Catholic, assisting in the work of the church on Sundays and
holidays and with communion and teaching children their catechism.

It is claimed that he is the ancester of all the LePages in the region and of
the LePages who were seigneurs of Rimouski.

The Dictionnaire by Rene Jette shows Germain to be 101 years old at his death
in 1723. This sets his birth in 1622. He was married about 1658 to Reine LORY. They had one child, Rene, your ancestor.

Tanguay gives his year of birth as 1641 but this is doubtfull as Jette,
Lussier, and Tanguay (in a foot note) all confirm his age as 101 years making
his year of birth 1622.

Tanguay shows only one child.

Reine LARRY (LORY) was born about 1641. She died in 1696 in St-Francois, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec, Canada. She married Germain LEPAGE about 1658 in Ouanne, France.

Information source - Charles LePage (Rin #131) also from the Dictionnaires by
Rene Jette and Tanguay.

Although Tanguay gives Reine's year of birth as 1651, this appears to be
wrong. She was reportedly married in 1658 and her son, Reine, was born in 1659.
It appears that her birth date is off by 10 years at least, making it about
1641.

They had the following children:

  M i René LEPAGE
